Down by the Potomac

Appreciating the Potomac River

The river rushes,

Its beauty I see,

Separates VA, MD,WV, and DC,

You can see the water,

Among the rocks,

As you sit and enjoy the view,

Bring a picnic basket with you,

Watch the river flow,

Right through the Nation’s Capital,

The beloved river is beautiful,

The summer turns to fall,

We have a ball,

In the upper part,

Love to sail,

Look out on the beauty,

Of the mighty Potomac,

Rest assured,

It is the best,

River flows,

None the less,

I sit and think about life,

Down at the Potomac.
